Turbo charging the 95 and later 2.3L-2.5L EEC-V
(OBD2) managed motors.

MAF meter.
Is my stock MAF meter ok? - NO
Stock MAF will not support any boost before maxing out. 90mm is a good MAF to upgrade to. You will need custom tuning for a larger MAF meter.

Injectors.
Are my stock injectors ok for boost? - NO
Stock injectors should be ok for 5psi. I would strongly suggest to upgrade injectors. A good injector to go with would be the 42lb green top injectors. They are a little more pr?cised than a larger injector such as a 60lb injector. You should be able to get a set of 4 for under 200$. 42lb injectors will support up to 336 FWHP (Flywheel Horse Power). You will need custom tuning for larger injectors.

Custom Tuning.
Will I need to tune my ECU? - YES
You will need to get a custom tune burnt for your ECU to match you setup. A good tuner is the SCT Xcalibrator-2 http://www.sctflash.com/product_xc2.php There are a few things that should be done in tuning that you can not do with just the xcal-2 you will need to buy the Advantage Software http://www.sctflash.com/product_racer.php for your ECU that will give you full control over your ECU. To improve drivability and to keep your motor from stalling after running boost the maf must be tuned to ignore the MAF and run off the throttle position below 1300RPM?s. The reason you will need to do this is because right after running boost air rushes back out threw the MAF meter causing it to run rich for a few seconds causing your motor to stall. You can do about all you need with just the xcal-2 the only thing the advantage sw is good for is the fine tuning.http://www.jannettyracing.com/ is a SCT dealer and can supply you with the xcal-2 with a tune to fit your setup. There are a lot of SCT dealers that can give you a tune for 50$ once you have your xcal-2 the xcal-2 can hold 3 custom tunes and they can upload it right into your xcal-2 tuner.

Intercooler.
Will I need an intercooler - NO ( but highly recommended)No matter how much or how little boost you run an intercooler will always be to your advantage. So you may as well install one right from the start. If you are under a tight budget and can?t afford an intercooler that easy then I would strongly suggest you not to go much over 10PSI. I know guys that will say an intercooler is mandatory for any thing over 7PSI. When I 1st installed the intercooler on the ranger I noticed a big gain in HP, I also noticed a drop in EGT?s (exhaust gas temperatures). However you could run a water methanol injection system to take the place of an inter cooler, however I?m not sure if it will be as effective as an intercooler and it most likely won?t be any less money than installing an intercooler.

Stock Auto Transmission (A4LD)
Is my stock Auto transmission strong enough to handle the extra HP? - NO
The stock auto transmission will never hold up to boost. It will probably start to slip at 5psi. I started with 10 PSI and the stock A4LD transmission slipped 2nd gear and OD the 1st test drive. You will need your transmission built up at a transmission shop or you should install the 5spd manual ranger transmission. good for well over 300HP.Clutch. You will need to upgrade your clutch if you have a 5sp manual transmission. Depends on how much HP you plan to make as to what clutch you should get. If you want to run mild 10-15 PSI the 4.0L clutch works well from what I have heard. Up to 20PSI the center force clutch should be ok. Any thing above 20PSI you will probably want the spec stage 3 or 4 clutch depends on how you want to use your truck.
