I'm using a Volvo intercooler and a T3 turbo. Ya i used the stock air intake tube ........ i used to like it but its really a piece of crap lol. I have to get something better made up.

Yea, probably get a 45 degree bend and put your MAF and K&N Cone on it or something:cheers2: . Yea it would be soo much better, even without the muffler in it, its sooo restrictive. And here's a real noob of a question. When i go to mount a volvo intercooler, do the openings to towards the bottom? By the looks of nage's pictures, it looks like his boost tube is goin around and down while his TB tube is comin up from the bottom.

nagelandy55

Ya i was thinking a 4 inch 90 degree exhaust elbow and a 4" to 3" coupler down to the turbo. I think they have those a home depot in some type of rubber not silicon. I also wanna get one of those air filter mounting plates on my MAF. Right now i'm silicon/gluing the filters on, it works but it aint pretty.

It may look like the TB tube is coming from the bottom but its not. Thats just the way i had to route the piping for it all to clear with the hardware that i recieved in the IC piping kit.

Nag, whats the dims of your IC?

I'm glad I got the charge piping I got. I have a few half circles so I can eliminate a lot of couplers.

I don't know off hand how big it is but its a Volvo. I'm sure you can find the dim's somewhere on the internet. All i know is it fits perfect behind the rad. I plan on getting a new IC soon so if you want a volvo lemme know.

Oh I was just wondering because I've already bought one ;) Not from a Volvo just an aftermarket one thats apparently good for 450hp HA It's a nice size and I think I want to put it right how you have yours set up or in front of the black plastic. So it's a little more flashy. Like if you look at the pic, I would have to trim a bit of the middle of the plastic I THINK to make the IC fit. I haven't mocked it up yet but there's lots of ways to make it fit :D

isnt that bad?

Look at the pics on Nagelandy's a lil closer. His is directly in front of rad as well. The air still passes thru both.

25x12x3 inch core

night and day difference between this one and a volvo

with my holset the turbo side is almost to hot to touch and the intake is nice a cool

save yourself the time and get something good instead of that volvo crap

The one I got is from JDM Sport. LOL YAY HONDA!

Core Size 22"x7"x2.5" only thing its 2.5" inlet and outlet but oh well few silicone reducers. Wanted a good size to fit just behind the grille.

There is nothing wrong with 2.5" inlet and outlet. I'm running 2.5" IC piping and it works slick, i think most guys are running 2.5.

whats the silver box to the left?

Kurt

PCV Oil Catch can. I don't like to vent the Crankcase to atmosphere so in order to keep the oil out of the turbo inlet any oil mist that may be in the gas will condense in there. They engine is quite fresh so there is very little blow by now... but in time like all engines. :)

Are you running an OBDII system? What kind of IC are you using, i like it! I'm assuming your inlet is on the same side underdeath, did you have to do some cutting to get that to fit?

Kurt
03-07-2008, 04:55 PM
Yes, I am running the stock computer (2000 EEC-V) tuned with Sniper Commando. It's an ebay intercooler w/ same side inlet/outlet. The only things that needed to be cut was the center mount on the header panel, the holes through the core support, and the hood latch needed to be modified.

So far it's proving to be a pretty cheap and efficient setup.

One more thing... I keep my Air conditioning!

Edit: Heres the link for the intercooler. (http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/CXRacing-Intercooler-23-x11-x3-Turbo-ECLIPSE-TALON-DSM_W0QQcmdZViewItemQQcategoryZ33742QQihZ015QQitem Z250217280380)

is there a way to have the ic "pressure tested" like a radiator?? i ran the volvo ic and had like nooooooo boost. once i bypassed it, my boost gauge went through the roof.

yea man thats awesome, i really like the ic out in front of the ac, and you dont loose any room between the block and radiator. do you have any over heating or ac not getting as cool with the ic out in front??

Kurt

No problems at all.
