What are the biggest valves you can put in a head and what cam set up would work the best with them?

1.89 intake and 1.59 exhaust are the largest I know of. They are for 94 and earlier heads. Any head later than 94 has small stem valves and big valves will need to be custom made.

The esslinger turbo cam kit with valves is it for the pre94 single plug head only ? My dad spent about 5 hrs porting my twin valve head and intake so I need to put larger valves in it. I really appriciate all your help and I will be posting pics of the work in progress soon.

You can get valves for your the 95 and up heads threw boport http://www.bo-port.com/ the cost is over 300$ and they are custom made. It is totally worth it. I have a 98 ported head with oversized valves from boport, beehive valve springs & a 2277cam. It feels pretty good at 18PSI.

How much did you pay for the valves and beehive springs? Is the 2277 cam worth the extra money? Was it you who told me its not worth it over the stock cam?
Thanks.

I paid boport 300$ for the valves. He says it was the 1st set ever made for the late model head and that they will be more for any future order. The beehive halve springs came from a late model ford motor not sure what it was but it looked like a SHO v6. I paid 25$ for them from a junk yard. I had to go with the beehive springs because I was running into spring bind problems.

I am not sure how much the 2277 cam helps. I'll decide after a few 1/4MI passes.

So will the stock springs work fine with the new valves?

Yes they should. I had a problem because on the new valves the groves for the locks where to low on the stem. That is the only reason I had a problem. It was a one time mistake for the guy boport hired :) .
