Hi I'm new to this forum and don't know much about mecanics so I got a question.

I need to change my clutch and one want that will last longer then stuck one with better perfomance, the car is a 2003 ford ranger with 2.3 engine 65k miles on it. I'd buy a SPEC clutch kit (with pressure plate, disc, bearing, etc) and bring that to a garage for installation.

What I need to know before is if it will fit without extra costs and if diameter is the same. That's what I'd buy: http://www.clutchcityonline.com/products/SPEC/SF351.shtml

That is the stage one but maybe stage 2 would be better but might not a good for daily driving? Some hard launches, nothing extreme no drag race and no turbo in the ranger.

Thanks for your answers.

I don't know with that site, but spec doesn't list a clutch for your truck.

Also, if you're going to buy a spec clutch, get it direct from spec. It'll almost surely be cheaper. Also, If you don't plan on turboing it, then a stage 1 or 2 should be more than adequate.

Thanks for the answer the official spec site doesn't list it ...

So I should go with Sachs clutch that's the only one I can find, anyone know if they are good?

There is this clutch that would work too for a 2.3 2003 right? Can I just bring that to the garage and let them install it.

Sachs is the best of the best, you can't go wrong with it. In the OEM world, they set the bar, everyone else tries to keep up.

Sachs is top notch! Been OEM on saabs, vw and audi for years

I have put tons of OEM 228mm Sachs clutches behind some pretty heavily modded 1.8t and 1.9tdi VWs without ever having one slip or fail. For higher power, I have had bad luck with Spec, both at work and on my own cars... None of their clutches aside from the twin disk set-ups handle the claimed power. For 4-600hp applications I stick with clutchnet and beyond that I go to a tilton triple-disk.
