These turbo trucks are a lot of fun. Be careful with your automatic trans though. I havent heard of them accepting much power

Hi flyin
Well ive investigated that i found a plate that adapts a c4 to a 5.0 bellhousing i measured my coworkers 5.0 c4 today and now ill go outside and measure my bellhousing trans to see what it is.Are these turbo setups dependible because i want to travel and use it daily just more power nothing radical you see im 55 i guess i have middle age crisis? Well thanks fellas for the warm welcome.

Yeah, I finally don't feel like the old guy anymore at 36. I don't know how well a sbf bellhousing will fit in our trans tunnels. I have swapped quite a few motors and transmissions and I remember the 4.0 sohc bellhousings to be quite tight. Another option would be to find a c4 out of a pinto or mustang ii.
My truck has been quite dependable. I have had a header crack once and slipped my clutch. Currently I have turned down the boost until the intercooler is installed. I drive the truck every day all year. The only thing that I would try to avoid is too much custom fabrication as it would make a quick and easy repair take a while.
Feel free to ask. There is a lot of good info to be had

i think your best bet would be use a A4LD 2.3 bell housing on a 4.0 tranny http://www.transmissioncenter.org/a4ld.htm
this way you can keep your overdrive .
if you can do a rebuild youself or have someone do it for you you could build 1 of these.

I will be 36 next month, so you're not the only "OLD" guys on here. It's better to be a "turbo old man" than a "dirty old man".....LOL.

Thanks for the trans information. I dont plan on racing but i know you need a good transmission for more horsepower. I dont plan on doing the work myself Im an electrician not a mechanic but i want to use new parts or just about new im continuing my research.
