now this might be little off topic, but....
i just noticed this the other day. i think i mave have a bit of a problem. now stick with me cuz its kinda hard to explain.
when i first took the engine (ranger engine, obd2) apart, i broke one of the bolts that holds the front main cover on. i managed to drill the bolt out and put a helicoil in, but then i noticed a problem.
now picture this if you can. picture the engine upside down first off with the oil pan off. now normally the the front cover sits flat on the bottom of the engine. well i guess the helicoil wasnt exactly in place or the cover shifted or whatever. but the important thing is that the cover isnt sitting flush with the bottom of the engine on one side.
now will this screw me up when it comes to timing issues since the crank sensor is mounted in that front cover? i know the sensor is nothing but a magnet, but its off by about a 1/32" to 1/16", im talking minute, but that could mean a difference of some degrees when it comes to timing.
