Hey everyone quick question here. I have my BOV installed and am a little confused on the vacuum hook-up. My blow off valve has 2 ports on it. I'll attach a picture to this post. Any idea on how to plumb the vacuum lines? Thank you
It's exactly this one.....

The vac, boost would go to the top inlet. I'm not sure but I think the 2nd inlet is a breather. Keep the vac, boost line short as possible.

If you get them backwards the wastegate will not release. Hook it up and watch your boost gauge. Just be careful, The boost will build really quick. I accidently did it when swapping springs. I am kind of suprised that my motor accepted that much boost through 2 gears. I only wish that I would have seen the boost gauge.

He's asking about the bov. Not the wastegate.

So the vacuum would go to the top connection? The supply hose that came with the BOV is the size of the lower/smaller nipple.
Also for the vacuum should i take it from before or after the throttle body?

for the wastegate i used the inlet on the side. i heard that the one at the top of the wastegate was vent to atmosphere

Hook vacuum up after throttle body. You have the wastegate hooked up right.

Vacuum for the BOV after the throttle body? Shouldnt it read if the pressure is high before the throttle body? I'm not sure, im new to this

Blow off valve need a vacuum source to open up to release pressure.
Wastegate needs a pressure line to open up to bypass exhaust gas to the turbo.

Ahhh ok, so is that the top outlet on the BOV i should hook up to, and leave the bottom one open?

Correct

Thank you Top Notch, I'll hook it up that way and see how it goes!

I thought everything was set up all right, but I'm having a small issue. I thought it was the BOV that I heard, but I think it was compressor surge. I'm not sure my BOV is opening. I have a line hooked up from after the throttle body, that goes into the top/larger port on the BOV that I showed a picture of on the first page. Is this right? I gotta be sure, because I'm not sure its working. How can I test it?

That sounds right, when the throttle plate closes the BOV should be seeing vacuum. How many PSI are you running?

Maybe the BOV isn't working then, I'm not sure whats going on with it. I have an 8 pound spring in there right now, even on just part throttle pulls and i let off i hear the compressor surge.
i tried turning the adjusting screw and it didn't seem to make a difference either

let it idle and see if you can push the spring up. Mine takes quite a bit of boost before it'll blow off. You have to take your foot completely off the throttle too or the compressor will surge more easily.

i doubt its compressor surge its probably the bov fluttering
you didnt make enough boost for it to open all the way so it will flutter

It might be that salating, i'm not 100% though. hmmmm
nagelandy, what do you push on the spring at idle?

Also, how does the adjustment screw work on it? What does turning it in do, and what does turning it out do?

what bov do you have?

I posted a pic of it on page 1 on this thread. It's a cheap knock-off one. I don't even know the brand

honestly, go invest in a good one, i learned the hard way with knock offs, about $1000 worth, all of it was a waste

no idea how those work. What happened with your knockoff BOV gary?

peice of crap
is was a turbo xs rfl knock off
it leaked, had crap parts, and there was no happy medium with it
low boost it would flutteer because the spring was to tight
but under high boost it was fine with a tight spring, but with a loose spring it fluttered
now with my hks its completly sealed all the time, never leaks and will open as needed with low boost or high boost
i refuse to go with cheap crap anymore, you end up spending more money in the end
thats why with the head i got off of you, i bought all new parts except for the cam and followers, i shoulda got bigger valves but i dont reall care that i got stock ones
im not looking to make a ton of hp, just something that runs good and has a decent amount of power

I have a greddy on the way but I have an update!
I checked my lines, and I had the BOV and wastegate lines backwards. My BOV should have been the line AFTER the throttle body, but I put the one on before it instead. So the wategate still worked so I wasn't sure. I checked the lines today after the adjustment on the BOV did nothing, and figured it out!
