View Full Version : Post your timing table

I need to see some Borderline spark tables. I have run what I consider to be conservative timing, but I can't seem to be able to get rid of this detonation issue I am having. So, before I go crazy looking for something not obvious, I would like to confirm that all the obvious stuff looks right.

All indicators (i.e. AFR,spark plugs, etc.) tell me that everything is in normal operating parameters, yet I still get knock. So all I can think of is that my timing may be too aggressive. This is not the first vehicle I have tuned so I have experience with what a table should look like. I have even gone as far as comparing it to factory ford tables (i.e. 03-04 cobra/gt-500). However, those are different engines and who know, maybe these 2.3's like way different numbers.

I am only running 10lbs of boost right now which shouldn't be giving me any problems. I tend to get detonation at about the medium high load level.... sorry I don't have the actual load percentage that it usually happens at.

So if a few guys could post up a screen shot of there borderline spark table for me as a reference, I would really appreciate it. Please only post pics of known good tables used with 93 octane or less.

And that's with 93 octane!!??

Is that with the old single plug head or the dual plug head?

That is more aggressive then I would have guessed.

93oct with no more than 15PSI. If it is a stock head non pollished chambers I would take 3 points out.

Salating, are you aware your load is only going up to 85%?

If i go into my definition file it shows percentages for that column, not to sure why it shows up like that in my software.

What percentage does is it show it goes up to in your software?

If i look at my definition file it goes to 100.

The file I posted is what I see in my software.
