how is everyone blocking off there internal wstegats to runn the external one?
like block off plate or just welding the wastegate flange or what?

Depends.
If you have the flapper on the turbo side then you could make a simple bracket that runs from 2 bolts (like the internal gate) to the flapper (like the internal gate) but it would be solid thus holding it shut.
If it's like mine... where the flapper is attached to the elbow part then it's a little more difficult. I'm thinking of tack welding the arm on the outside to hold the flapper shut.

take a peice of copper pipe and form it to the inside of the turbine housing. then use a mig to plug weld it. or to do it pretty fit a peice of 304 stainless 10g into the hole and then plug weld it with 308/309 wire. if its cracked around the port nows your time to fix it. sawsall the crack out after you drill a 1/4-3/8 inch hole at its termination. cast steel welds better when its bare. use a sanding roll to clean the inside of the port.
