Where do you guys get your piping for the intercooler and intake? I know someone that pieced their turbo project together using exhaust tubing. any suggestions on what to use and where to get it all?

alot of tubing that i have used in the past i just bought off of ebay. the thing to look out for is the cheap thin tubing. i look for at least 2.0mm in thickness because it usually welds better. this tubing is aluminum by the way.

I don't like exhaust tubing. If your truck sits and gets condensation in the exhaust tubing,it starts to rust.Eventually it flakes off and goes thru the turbo and engine.I have even seen aluminized steel tubing do it.

Ahh I didn't even think of that over time. thank you, and excellent point.

YW.I'd hate to know you put all that work into your truck and I knowingly let you do something to mess it up.

Absolutely. this will be great info for someone wanting to take a little shortcut. id hate to have a small spec of rust destroy time, money and patience.

Mandrel bent stainless steel exhaust tubing will work,as long as it's T304 or better.(can be polished also)The cheaper stainless will eventually rust to.I believe it has a higher iron composition.

VERY TRUE! ALSO A GOOD POINT! that is why i prefer aluminum piping. if you don't decide to weld it and want to use silcone couplers, get yourself some good t-bolt clamps instead of the worm clamps because the worm clamps do no like to hold under a reasonable amount of boost!

any pictures of silicone connectors? t-bolt clamps? worm clamps? I don't know the difference! haha sorry but thank you!

If you want pretty, square cuts try a band saw. I have had good luck cutting tubing with a chain type exhaust pipe cutter. I get a pretty good cut and it is cheap and effective.

I used a band saw that was intended for wood. Aluminum is soft so it don't dull the blade.

I don't have a band saw to use.I thought about a big c type pipe cutter.I've used on exhaust tubing, but I was afraid it'd crack aluminum.

Can you get access to a chop saw, made for wood.
I used one of these once to cut steel exhaust pipe. Just don't take a chance at getting hurt.

A good hack saw with a blade that works well on alum, should do it.
