What transmission with a T-case hanging off the back, bolt up to my 2.5?
Pretty simple question. Also, what year trucks did they come in?
I know they exist, I've drivin a 2.3L 4wd ranger!!:moon:

Man thats gonna be a hard one to find. Not many 4wd 2.3s out there. You'd be lucky to find someone making a V8 4x4 or something that had a 2.3 4wd. All the ones I have seen where 5 speed rangers 89 and up. I would guess they use the same M50D transmission with a transfer case from the Bronco II, except for the bellhousing bolt pattern of course.

Doesn't the 3.0 use the M5OD too? If so shouldn't you be able to just grab the t-case from that and toss it on the M5OD with the 2.3 bell housing?

Yeah I ment to say that too. Just to get off topic for a second, there is a ranger here that looks like its a bronco II with the cab and box off a ranger. The box has been chopped and is only like 4ft long. I am just guessing thats what it was.

yeah, But i dont want to go thru the trouble of changing output shafts/tailhousings. Thats why i'd like to find a T-case already bolted to the tranny.
And I want to find one older, so it has a shifter, instead of pushbutton servo's.

Wish you were closer, and selling it Finally1 :(
The transfer case, Isn't it a Borg warner 1350?
I want to go ahead and get the T-case put in, that way when I straight axle it, thats one less thing to worry about. Not to mention I'll have low-range 2wd.

Also, what about clutch setup? Is it the same as mine is already? Or what kinda modifying am I looking at to make it work?
Not worryied about crossmember set-up, I got a welder
And Yes I know my Driveshaft wont work either. I would have to get a different one. Prolly a 4wd expo, seeins how It will bolt up to my 8.8

Just to get smart for ya speed. Drive shafts means drives shafts. LOL It would be better to just find and build a 4wd ranger. you need way to much stuff to make this happen.

J5- I have a donor truck already with the running gear im using. Remember my 78' F-100? Dana 44 front and 9" rear. Front will be coil sprung, rear will be leaves. Figure why not? The truck is just sittin in my yard, and the body is garbage. 351m/c6/whatever case its got will be sold for suspension parts.
Thats why i haven't touched the ranger lately, been busy trying to get my yota driving and working kinks out!!

Quick update on my Tcase problem. My ranger has become my mud/trail truck. And I sold my yota to a great home.
D60/14Bolt combo under the ranger, with a np203/205 doubler. With that it will alow me to run a stronger gear. Im already scrounging up parts now.
Btw, dont scream Sacrilege either.
