Ok so here is what I'm looking to do I have a 98 2.5 L with a 5 speed that I'm looking to install a turbo on. I have a turbo off an 80's super coupe but I have no clue what I'm doing when it comes to turbos and efi tuning. I was a auto tech for 3 years so I know how they work just not how to make them fast LOL . I use the truck for SCCA autocross racing and I'm looking to lower it and stuff for that also so any ideas or tricks would be a huge help seeing as you guys are the pros at this !! Thank for you time guys !!! :=)

Tip #1: The search button is very helpful

What turbo is it? Your going to need a header, injectors, IC, MAF, Tuner and fuel pump just to name a few. Like i said do some searching and if you have any further questions don't be afraid to ask. :)

Well I looked the turbo (with the help of your junk yard turbo list) and it is a FORD T-Bird 87-88 (water cooled) IHI RHB52 - I think cause of a company buy out I think they list it as it's new part number but it is off a t-bird and it is a warner - ishi. I haven't see any the guys on here them and I think it maybe good idea to run an other turbo.

that turbo is small, it will spool almost instantly. All depends how much power you wanna get out of your truck but i believe the most you'd get out of that turbo would be 250hp.

If it is a t3 footprint turbo go for it. It should work great,

Ya a T3 would work great, but like i said an IHI is small.

250 hp sounds good to me !! LOL Plus I think a fast spool up maybe just the thing I need for whipping around the kones!! I'm guessing that the stock bottom end is no good for this from what I have read on there so I think I will hit the pages and see what I can come up with. Also I find that the SCT tuners can be picked up for a resonable price on ebay but I will need to do my home work on it. Thank x guys!!

I was looking at your hedder and I love it but if I used it the turn down on the IHI will end up facing my heater box ... do you know of any thing that can fix that??

The stock E6 will locate it right.

u can reclock the turbo. the header that jess sells clears the heater box.

If you use an E6 you'll probably have to cut some of the heater box out, its not big deal. If the IHI unit is smaller then my T3 you might be able to get away with not cutting anything. You can also use the stock downpipe with this manifold.
The header Jess sells will locate it up and towards the front more, this will allow you to keep your heater box in-tact but then you have to fab up a different downpipe.

A new turbo that cheap! I don't think so! Those are the cheap Chinese turbos, heard nothing but bad things about them.

thats the place i got my turbo. from cxracing. I have no complaints yet, but i cannot give accurate durability reviews yet, i was running a stock 2.5L motor and if you read my posts, you know it didn't go so well! Turbo spools up nicely and provided me with lots of great power!

You get what you pay for, maybe your just lucky "so far!" I hope it lasts for you.

I don't know what to say about something that cheap. I've heard alot of stories about the turbo's going after the first 100miles and a few that don't have any problems. The chinese turbo will not last near as long as a good brand one. I would be very suprised if it lasts a couple years or even one. But one nice thing about that is that it give you an excuse to upgrade to a Holset after.

Here's something that would worry me.

Yea i really wanted to get up and running and figured I would take a chance on it, doesn't seem to bad yet. In the mean time I'll just save up for a nice solid one in case something goes wrong
