Anyone got a tip on how to get te crankshaft pulley off? I need to get that pulley off, and then I'm not sure how to get it off of the back end of the motor either. I have the four main caps off the center, but crankshaft is still attached on the ends. Any tips to getting out the crankshaft? thanks!

you have to use a pulley puller after that you just have to take of the two caps that are left on there

Spray a good penetrating oil on the end of the crank that will help.

I got the back half off, that was just me being dumb, but cant get that damn pulley off. I can't even get the crankshaft pulley bolt out! Like Jess said I might just have to keep spraying the crap out of it with penetrating oil. Its real real stubborn
An impact gun is the magic key for the front bolt.

hoooooooly crap that sucked! I have an impact and it just wouldnt budge! I called my buddy over whos about 225lb and we took a half inch wrench, looong piece of pipe to slide over the wrench for leverage and he cranked all his weight on it as I counterbalanced the motor/motorstand with my entire weight, and it FINALLY gave way. Man that thing was stubborn! The pulley came right off with the pulley puller
I ended up taking off the crankshaft with that silver piece on the front of the motor still attached, the one that holds a sensor in place. Does the timing belt pulley that has a keyway slide off of the crankshaft? That silver plate wont come off unless that pulley is off. Its tough to explain, i just am not too sure hot to get that off, can't really get a lot of leverage on it at all.
Yeah, the timing sprocket can be a pita to get off. It does slide off. I had to use a little heat to get mine off. Heat the sprocket, not the shaft and it should do the trick.

ya the crank timing sprocket is a whore, i got in there with a wedge and kinda punded it out. Looking back i should have used a pully puller with a bit of heat like kurt is saying.

this crank timing sprocket is going to be the death of me! i went up and rented a 3-jaw puller, that didn't help, just didnt work. Slight heat didnt work, nothings working and its drivin me crazy!!!!!! had to rant because idk what to and its aggravating

The magic trick is to use a breaker bar and let it rest on the frame and quickly bump the starter. I know this won't help if the motor is already out but it is the quickest and easiest way. Otherwise heat and a GOOD impact wrench will get the job done

Oh I got the pulley bolt out with a lot of frustration and force. Now the timing belt sprocket is whats stuck. And yea I'm doing both of these things with the damn motor out! so its not fun. Now trying to get the sprocket off with just the crankshaft in my hand!

Got it off! I went to my nieghbors shop and he had a large collar that slid behind it, then used a monstrous 2-jaw pulley on his collar and it popped right off! Just that initial breaking it out of place was tough!! Definately a pain tho!
