the other day i started workin on the engine again but like i said, once again i hit a snag.

my problem is, im using the 97 block with a 87 tc head. now i put my 87 port and polished knifed rotated intake on, but when i went to put the 97 accessory brackets on, it was a no go.

the front bottom corner bolt of the lower intake is in the way, keeping me from putting the 97 accessory bracket on. I then tried to put on the 94 brackets (the ones that i originally used on the tc block), and the bottom of the 94 bracket hits the cam sensor.

now i didnt really check out the rest of the bolt holes for alignment, thats something ill do tomorrow. but does anyone have any ideas, besides either getting a dp head or using the tc block??

is it possible to cut the lower front corner off (which would cut away that bottom bolt on the intake) an maybe make like a plate or something to hold it down from the top bolt and go to the bottom bolt, which would be bolting down the bracket, making something like a strap to hold it down.

i want to use the dp head, but my stock one is kinda fubar'd, from what the guy at the head place said. so i just left it there (went from costin me 170 to over 350 to get it fixed). i dont really wanna get one until i get some money, so that i can have it completely overhauled.

any other ideas

I don't remember a problem when I did the T/C head with the 97 block. You may need to leave a bolt out.

i thought i might have to do that, but i just ground down the corner that was messing with me just enough so that i sit on the head and over the manifold, and bolted them down together. it worked splendidly, maybe morrow ill get some pics up. but instead of using 4 bolts to hold down the bracket i could only use 3
