ok so today i was installing my pistons and everything was smooth until i went to torque down the rods studs so i was torquing it and all of a sudden it was spinning very easy well i pulled the wrench of and half of the stud came with it i was like WTF! :banghead: but i guess i would rather it break now then me getting the whole engine together then break so now i have to go buy new rod bolts

You sure you didn't over torque it? Where you using the old bolts? If so get some ARP rod bolts.

yea go on summitracing.com buy a set for the 88 t/c motor.

well the torque wrench never clicked so i think that might be the problem
what should i torque them to?
should i take all the pistons out and replace the rod bolts?

The pistons don't need to come out. I replaced rod bolts in a T/C motor once and replaced them one at a time and never even took the caps off the rods with the pistons in the motor.

just ordered the ARP rod bolt kit from summit racing i think I'm gonna just take out the pistons and then bust the old rod bolts out
what are the torque specs for the arp's?
