Project 2.3L power potential put to the test.

I have wanted to do this for a while. :=) Now I have the time and I plan to be spinning the rollers within a couple weeks.

I am installing a 5spd in the ranger. Dropping a 2.3L back in with T/C pistons ARP rod bolts & 1035HG other than that this is a stock 97 ranger motor.

The motor a stock 97 2.3L with turbo pistons and rods.

What the combo will be.
79lb injectors
large intake
Big 3" CXracing IC
115oct race fuel
11.5 A/F ratio
30PSI of boost.

Turbo to be used will be a H1C holset or the T70 not sure yet depends if the T70 goes into compressor surge or not.

It's the ranger 5spd. I broke 3rd gear last time and that was with a real hard shift dropping the clutch with a solid hub clutch. I think I’ll be ok with a sprung hub clutch.

I did a compression test on the new motor last night after a long hard break in 130PSI per cyl front to back I'll put the H1C on and see what HP she can produce. I pushed it to 31PSI of boost and all is good :=)

thats sweet, i got some new valvetrain parts comin in tuesday from boport

and if i get the core support this week, this weekend i hope to get it in

Looks like I may be able to run on the dyno next week. 1st pull will be at 13PSI hope I can break 200RWHP with low boost :)

I will then bump it up to 30PSI and see if I can break 350. The motor is running real strong has high oil pressure and makes over 130 PSI in every cyl on a compression check.

i concure. its stout at 16 psi. rode in it a yesterday and i got to say i love that tune man! i mean it when i say that is the crispest running 2.3 ive ever been in. no flat spots or hickups. well done!
