Anyone know what's involved to remove a Duratec-4 head? I presume it's like the typical DOHC head, and the cam towers have to come out to get to the head bolts, yes? Any unusual bolt-head types or sizes? For that matter, what is the head-bolt head size? (just to make sure I've got both 12 and 6-point sockets in 3/8" and 1/2" drive).

I'm talking junkyard removal tactics here, so if things like a cordless sawzall would help, no problem. :D

It requires a tx55 torx bit socket for the head bolts and they are under the cams so cams have to come out. Just make sure to keep the order and orientation of the cam bearing caps proper or you could have problems when reassembling them. Should be pretty much like any other dohc head.

Thanks, probably wouldn't have had that one in the bag otherwise.
