ok so i've been doing some research on a Xcal II tuner. Im going to use it on a 96 ranger with a 2.3 turbo. but its not running yet so i was going to just try it in my non turboed 4.0 and see if it would help me with fuel eco.
I understand that they have these tuners in many ford rigs, but when i down load the tunes for this on SCT do i have to pay for any and all tunes, even the basic ones? Meaning when i get it could i use it out of the box or would i have to download and buy a tune, I'm sure i would have to down load some sort of a tune.
sorry, this tune and fuel system's like when OBD2 and obd1 is what years and such.
I think once i have the tuner and stuff here i'll understand this stuff.
