did you guys just run like a common van line and just tap all the other vac lines into it kinda like a manifold, or do they have specific places to go?

reason im asking is the line that come off the pcv, i think i might connect it to a catch can, or is it the valve cover goes to a catch can? either way what did you guys do??

i think vac lines is my weakness and is what caused me to scrap the last engine i did.

both the crankcase breather and valve cover go to a catch can and the vac port for the pcv gets ported to:

fuel pressure regulator,

BOV,

Boost/Vac Gauge,
;these are the only ones that should not be check valved.

the rest should be check valved with a good brass rubber seal 30+psi valve that has less then 1 psi crack pressure. install it under the multiport vaccuum port bung. the rest are not designed to see boost.

Vaccuum brake booster,

Cruise control needs a vaccuum generator to work and a series of check valves if it is an earlier model that uses a vaccuum actuator.

interior vaccuum a/c and heater actuators.

you can get really nice checkvalves from http://www.mcmaster.com/

was i right? can you clear up the pcv problem im having??

are you working on yours right now?

i'll throw up some pics shortly since you and i are doing the same thing.

the PCV vaccuum port is the one underneth the throttle body flange on the upper plenum. since we are not using the pcv we can use it for other things that dont need a check valve. all the things that need to see boost and vacuum cant have a check valve or they will not work right.

you need one line with 2 t's in it for the fuel pressure regulator BOV and Boost/Vac Gauge. the source for this one is where the PCV previously hooked up.

everything else needs to be check valved. if you use the part number of the one above it will screw right in the intake manifold. then you screw in the multi port vaccuum bung into that and wala.... done. the problem with using the factory ford check valves is they leak off and only hold back about 5-10 psi and then they blow up whatever is on the other side of them. ive got a blown up heater vent actuator in my mustang to prove it. also if the brake one fails you pressurize it and then you have to suck all the air back out before it will work again. you following me yet?

you can cap off the one in the valve cover. and just catch can the crankcase breather. that breather is really an oil seperator. doesnt work that good but it is still useful.

hey man, i just got this check valve, this thing is huge. i thought it fit right on into the hole already on the intake.

it looks like i gotta drill that hole out and tap a new hole.

do you happen to know what tap i should use? i dont have any, so insted of buying a whole kit, i wanted to try nd buy just one.

AJ_Fritz

i got a little confused. its the 3/8 one with the opposite inlet and outlet. i did the same thing you did when i ordered my first one. the outlet will really be the inlet.

anyways.

correct part number is

7768K23 buna-n or 7768K63 viton seat.

which one is better the buna-n or viton

i think viton is a higher temp application? not sure though. the good valve stem seals are viton.

i got the viton valve seals in my head

they are fairly cheap

thanx man
