I don't know if your IC is big enough :=)
Lets see some more pics of that air intake you fabbed up, looks interesting.
Yah, but can it atleast turn the wheels over this time? :hehe:

dam thing is being a real pain in the dick. now i think i got a bad injector or 2. its definately running on 2 or 3 cylinders at idle. just isnt enough time in the day to check everything... i'll start checking compression and pulling injectors tommorrow. right now it sounds like a mix of turbo and and a$$ :woohoo:
i been hanging around jess to long. i think his luck is rubbing off :pointlaug

dear god i need a preist hehehe powerstearing pump locked up so tight stalled the motor. i have a bad feeling about this thing.....
Take a week's break from it. That will at least give you a week of nothing breaking around you LOL.

lmao... thanks man i knew you would come up with the answer heheh.
took a compression test on 4 the one that was missing.... 150 psi without opening the throttle body. all good! bad injector. changing that out as soon as i get off the puter. heheh got to use my brothers new laser thermometer NICE!

hummm wasnt the injector. somehow the wire to the oil sender got between the upper and lower when i bolted it up and broke the corner of the bolt hole off the upper. major vaccuum leak on cylinder 4. now i got to fix the upper.
any luck with that priest? might need him for last rights on this thing.

got the upper fixed last night and all my wirings taped up. have to take the upper to the belt sander to flatten it back out yet. also fixed the compressor housing on my HX40 last night. today i get to redo the a/c lines and drop in another power stearing pump, finish tucking all my wiring, hook up the vaccuum lines, rewire the alternator, attach the exhaust system, check her for leaks, and then i am goin' boostin'.

got it ready to run yesterday. everthing was going smooth when i went to start it and pumped about a quart of ATF out a cooler line i forgot to reinstall when i did the PS pump. topped the trany off stuck her in reverse to back it out of the garage to clean the floor up and nothing. had forward but no reverse....
going to finish up the rest of the wiring for the alternator, attatch the exhaust and other odds and ends today. then i'll figure out what the hell is wrong with this trany.

lol wired up the alternator..... shoooot! now its over charging. not just a little niether... 17 volts, 5 volts more then it needs. probably going to need a new one. i dont think you can get just the voltage regulator.
on a positive note the engine sounds sweet! nothing like a holset for a awesome exhaust note..... no more hick-up or misses. pressure tested my entire intake tract to 20 psi and it held and couldnt find any leaks. :P
mister nagelandy55 you better watch it on those slushbox comments ;)
going to hook up a pressure gauge to the transmission see if i can figure out whats wrong with it. might just be a peice of crude in the valvebody.

hey man if you can wait for shipping, try rock auto, i know they have the voltage reg's for a 97 ranger so you could try

went to autozone and picked up a new voltage regulator. works great! they even had it in stock 41.99. $19 cheaper then rock auto.
here is most likely the cause of the failure. i did an awful lot of tig welding with thae alternator bolted up to the block and i am pretty sure the high frequency cooked the voltage regulator. the guy who tested it at autozone never had one pop the circuit breaker on the machine so fast lol.
so now its running. still no reverse. going to call the guy that rebuilt it tomorrow. havent hooked up the rest of the exhaust yet as i dont want to pull it again if i have to yank the transmission out once more.
was power braking it and i must say, build boost fast, almost as fast as the stock T-3 with a .48 turbine housing. within about 2-3 seconds i got 5 psi. the rear brakes wont hold it any more and she digs 2 holes in my driveway. before i could hold back about 10 psi. shes definately got some bark.

lol best i could do right now is a cell phone video..... heheh and we all know how they suck.
right now i got to burn the video off the camcorder to the computer through a capture card. real pain in the neck.
just got back from Lowes picking up 81 bundles of shingle. unloaded em all by hand... by myself... im taking a break for a minute  got to be 95 degrees out! :drool5:
haha, have fun taking the bundles up a ladder to the roof now, 1 by 1. We did that when we redid my grandma's roof. Talk about sucketh.

been there matt... sucketh is one of the word comes to mind, among others lol. this time we'll be using a front end loader to get them to the roof :) got to get the old 2 layers off though first :shakes head: ;)
First TWO layers? :badidea:
Oh man, that sucks more than I thought. Good luck though. The billions of nails should wreak havoc on your yard... and driveway :frown2:
