ok well ive been looking at the swap for a while and I decided to make the plunge. I've got a 1990 2.3auto 2wd ranger. I've got a engine ordered for a 88 thunderbird it should be here anyday now.

I'm wanting to make 150-200 hp of the bat then go from there. I'm a little shady as far as what i need to do to get there as far as parts go. I've got the headers ordered from here so i can keep my ac and I dont really have a turbo picked out yet.

As far as wiring goes looks like re pinning is the easiest way to do it. What needs moved I cant find the pin outs or anythings.

Sorry for all the questions i know you guys hear them all the time, any help would be great...thanks again guys and im looking to joining the turbo ranks :turbob:

Your goal is pretty easy to achieve. With the after market header, and turning up the boost will get you 200HP easy.

For repinning. I think AJ_fritz on here has the diagrams, but you'll need the diagram for your truck, and one for whatever turbo computer you are going to use. Then compare and move the ranger wires to where they need to be to match the Turbo computer. Rather simple for your year Ranger.

Thanks guys, sure is a big help. I was talking to a shop about the swap and they were saying that my computer was speed density and that I needed to upgrade to MAF. Is that true, is the t-bird computer also speed density?

you do not need to upgrade to MAF, you can use speed density

t-bird ecu is Vane air metered.
