Not sure if this is turbo motor related, it says its a modine part. I think its for an aftermarket oil cooler, I didnt put it on my new motor

ANy idea if this is a turbo intake mani? this was off my old turbo block also

both are turbo 2.3L and merkur specific. first one is an water to oil cooler-preheater w/ a 90 turndown.

second is a merkur upper and lower. might not have the knock sensor in it. opps yes it does. its the white sensor that appeares to go to nothing in the lower intake.

ahh thanks just curious is that water to oil cooler necessary? I didnt put it on the new motor yet

I have one from a t-bird but haven't installed it yet. I figure that it cant hurt, but is not absolutely necessary

so do these lines run to the turbo or off the intake? im just curious cuz when I removed this from the old block there wasnt any lines attached to it

I can't remember how the lines are hooked up but if you search for coolant line diagrams or similar on TF or RPS i know you'll find something. I've got one at home but i can't get it on the internet as its down right now.

thermostat housing outlet to oil cooler to heater core to water pump return. 5/8 ID heater hose.

so do I need to get a t-stat housing off a merk or tbird that had this on it or should the t-stat off my ranger have a spot for this line?

He is trying to say that it goes in series with the heater core. The only thing you will need is 5/8 hose and clamps.

the stock t-3 turbos on the merkurs are all water cooled. don't know about the svo or early t-bird.
