Ok guys I'll be the test dummy for this clutch. After seeing a seller on eBay listing a "stage 2" clutch for our truck, I sent out an email asking if they do pickup because the location is close to me. So I made a quick stop on the way home and I spoke with the guy and what they offered me was a 6-puck ceramic sprung disc with a pressure place. They said that they have a contract with a major clutch company that makes all of their stuff and they just have to resell it under a different name. After showing me a setup that would be good for 350ft/lb I said why not and bought the PP, disc, alignment tool, bushing for $140. I'll keep you guys posted as I start the engine swap this weekend.

Oh trust me, I surely do plant on pushing this setup. This is my sacrificial motor. As soon as this truck is running I'm going to begin another motor.

If you could hurry up, I'd appreciate a review on this ASAP, LOL! I know your engine is still apart and still has headwork to be done, but i need a new clutch now, and would love to see hownthis holds up... even better yet, mail 'er to me and I'll let you know how she works, ya know, save ya some wrenchtime if it ends up being no good ;-)

Just so you know this is a competition clutch disc and pressure plate. The guy gave me a deal cause I picked it up but maybe I could get you one for abou te same price if you are interested. Atleast your truck is up and running.

What model did they offer you? Their site doesn't list an option for a 2.3 of any sort...ranger, mustang, TC, etc....
They look to be a decent clutch. Looking forward to your review.

All he said was stage 2 which really doesn't mean shit. He said they aren't allowed to give model specifics due to their contract with Competition. That's why I bit the bullet and bought it cause we will never know unless someone runs it and see what it can do.
Could he at least tell you if it was a Ranger-spec pressure plate? Or is it higher clamp pressure too?
If higher pressure than the stock Ranger one, this could definitely be a low cost heavy duty upgrade.

I'm trying! everyday I pass some SRT4 or Integra that I wish I could run down. The issue is that I only have one day a week to work on it which is Saturday from about 9-3:30. I'm trying to get a hold of Jess for a base tune and the Advantage 3 software. He's AWOL.

I'd try AJ or D94R, and they can relay a message to jess. I know what ya mean about wanting to spank someone. I had a 2500 chevy pull up next to me at a stop light and when the light turned green he speed away, but I knew I couldn't catch up and pass him if I wanted. I wasn't even trying to race, but the hole in my muffler gives the wrong impression.
