I truly hope you dont think this is all funny. If any person from anyone of those houses had called you in, everyone at the meet would have had to deal with the consequences of your foolishness.

You didnt even participate at the meet; were you even there longer than 20mins before you went off driving around attracting negative attention?

100% agree, the ranger guys dont need the rep that the rice burning tools down on the south side have!

EDIT. Never mind, I checked your info.

Your sounding like an old woman. It may have been a bad choice, but the only one responsible for a deed is the person that did it. Put the cane away, and come back to reality.

Sounding like a old woman or not.....Gumbys right all it takes is one person ...to **** it up for everyone we had people from kentucky and ohio drive to our meet...and the cop had already rolled through once to see what the hell was going on..if the cop had seen power ranger acting like ass ..the whole meet coulda been ended early...something that woulda pissed a lot of people off..Were all out there to have a good time and act like adults....

Sorry Jfive, he's right. There is maturity, immaturity, and then pure stupid. There's no room for the latter two at an event like that.

On someones private land? Go for it.
Out in public? Be smart.

jfive

I agree it was not a smart thing to do. He learned a hard lesson, as his truck took a beating. Im sure he likes his truck as it looked pretty good, and I'll bet he won't be doing it again. My point was that individuals are responsable for themselves. People thinking that they are guilty by association when they had no idea or control over what was gonna happen is something that causes problems for america. You just need to know your rights, and even if a cop tried to come and do something, you stand your ground, be respectful, and tell them they can't do anything. Cops will try to break the law if you let them. If your not breaking any laws to begin with, then there is nothing they can do. I am not saying it was okay, but that he would have paid the consequences himself.

LOL. I love you. no homo. :hehe:

Anyhow, the popo could have very well broken up the meet for a multitude of various "legal" reasons. No since in risking that and pissing all the participants off cause of one guy. So, one guys bad actions does become the consequence of everyone else.

Oh, and DAMMIT, where is the meet thread???

gumby
04-19-2011, 04:59 PM
jfive, I do beleive it is you that needs the reality check. It looks like you are missing out on at least one good definition of responsible. A responsible individual would have stuck around to be accountable for their actions. In reality, PR2.5 ran away leaving the rest of us to deal with whatever might happen.
We all know and have made poor decisions, hell I'll be the first in line to do a burnout or a short highway pull. There is a time and place for everything however, and it is how you handle yourself after a poor decision that speaks to a persons character.
If PR2.5 had returned to the event, or this thread, with an even slightly remorseful tone versus the boastful one he chose, I likely wouldnt have said anything.

Lastly, jfive, I would remind you to check my user title or click the forum leaders link near the bottom of the home page. You have every right to disagree with my position on any subject, but I would suggest you exercise some respect and maturity when doing so. :thanks:

Oh come on now. He was probubly embarresed about looking like an idiot, and didn't want to stick around to be yelled at or made fun of. I have had a burnout go wrong once, and luckly saved it, but I have seen this go on at my local car shows, and no one but the old woman complain about it, but then again none have ran into a tree. If I saw someone do it, I would laugh, and understand if they left in a hurry. Not like I am gonna accept a ticket for doing something I didn't do. I respect you, but I think for myself and question authority. "Believe" Now I appoligize for calling you a cane banging old woman.

Heres a couple links to pics. Not sure how many people had cameras out as the weather was total shit. Second meet in a row with cold, wet weather; hopefully next one will be better!

Good looking turnout. Shitty deal with the weather, but it only makes sense. The time I had the meet at my house it just had to rain all day, with perfect weather for days before, and after that day.

Reading through this, I feel kind of bad for PR2.5 because you know he has read this, and he probably feels awful about it... I would forgive him for being young and dumb and know that he will probably never think of doing it again for fear of embarrassment and consequence. Everyone has their time to shine, and everyone makes a mistake when they think they're shining. Ease up a little, I know it was stupid, hell I've taken out my own mailbox on accident, but think, you'll never forget that meet for the rest of your life now.
