well, i work in fleet maintenance and general diesel and auto repair.
i installed coil over shocks onto one of our fleet Colorado's and S10.
friend had some on a ranger also.
BUT: my truck is lowered, is there a way of getting coil over springs for a lowered truck? or should i purchase normal ones and modify. i have brand new toxic low rider shocks so i wonder if i can buy coil over kits for them. lol

what about just some adjustable gas shocks. Wouldn't the coilover ones be better if you where gonna be putting weight in the back. I would think they would make your allready stiff ride stiffer.

What is you purpose for them? People usually install coil-overs for 2 reasons- 1. They redesigned their suspension for a 4-link, ladder bar, etc to eliminate the leaf springs or else for a better tuned suspension. 2. They are using it for a work truck and need the extra hauling capacity. Unless you are redesigning your suspension, the fact that you lowered your truck means it is no longer meant for work. If you add coil-overs, or even air shocks, you have to remember that the shock mounting posts were designed for normal shock absorber operation, not to support weight. When you add the weight-supporting shocks, you risk breaking off the shock mounts. If you need a hauler, buy another truck.
I have air shocks on mine, but I did that just to lift the rear for clearance of the oversized rear tires I have on it, and also because when I have them aired up more, it seems to launch better from less suspension sag.

i have much larger trucks for hauling. nothing goes in the bed of this truck lol. but i do take my truck to road coarses and things like that, and i was going to do an experiment on how these coil-overs effect the cornering of my truck. i know i have a stiff ride, but it is what it is lol.
They list as "with 0" lift/drop". Does that mean they sell them for lowered applications?
I would not waste my time or money on them.
{Compressed Length 14.250 inches Extended Length 23.000 inches Travel 8.750 inches Spring Rate Variable}
How does the spring rate change, and to what? There is no way to adj them that I can see. I tried a set myself on my first rail and they did nothing for the ride. I would get KYB the least $ then rancho, fox, sway away, king.
I saw a better ride with $40 kyb than I did with the fake coil shocks. I now have fox and king shocks. I got better service from fox.
A quick way to test a shock to see if it is good for race app. Can you push in in or pull it out EZ by hand or with your body wight.
