So one of my friends got distracted staring at the fireworks tonight and backed straight into the passenger side of front bumper from the front, pushing the bumper all the way into my tire.

There's not much hurt on the bumper, but the bumper mount on my frame is flattened. Has anyone had to fix this before?

Not sure what you are talking about the mount being flattened, I completely pancaked my front bumper to where the sides gouged the tires.... Will take pics of the old bumper vs the $180 i bought from autopartswarehouse once it's light outside.

Edit: from what I remember it was 4 bolts to put the new one on and it was just L brackets off the frame... will no for sure in a bit once the sun pops out. The sides of the new bumper sag a little because I haven't braced it and didn't bother too because its now a parts truck.

Eff it, it's still to dark to take pictures under the truck so here goes in explaining the best I can.....

Your bumper has 4 bolts that hold it in place to the frame brackets. They are located just inside of the center cut-out in the bumper along the inside of the frame rails. (The exact same bumper I ordered from autopartswarehouse.com for $180 last year)

The center mounting brakets look like this, the slotted holes bolt/nut through the bumper.

They are adjustable to a certain amount on the frame to allow for proper alignment. Now the bumper itself has support brackets to keep the wheel arch's from sagging down. They look like this.

Chances are you messed up the bumper because I re-used the front center brackets no problem on my 95 after completely pancaking the bumper with enough force the motor mounts broke, the fan punched a new hole in the radiator and the whole drive-train moved forward about 2 inches rolling the tranny support over. I didn't re-use the side ones as they don't offer impact integrity they just help hold up the 1/8-1/4" gap between the fender and the bumper.

My truck has the bumper mounts on top of two thin tabs that stick straight out from the frame to which they're welded to.

Ah ok from the side in your avatar your truck looked like a 3rd gen with the signal lamps, my fault, I didnt quite catch the grille even though now I think about it the rims are a giveaway. In anycase you shouldn't have damaged the frame/mounts from a fender bender, can you post pictures of your truck here in the thread?

It was an F350 that backed into it LOL.

I'll post some pictures if I can even get the camera back from my little brother.

May have pushed it beyond alignment or folded the bumper on the inside but DOUBT it bent/crushed the mounts. love that little fender crease mine bent out completely, had to kick it back in rofl.

I took the bumper off today. The bumper is bent and twisted itself, but the passenger side mount is completely crushed.

I'm going to try the old chain & tree method once an extra set of hands gets home, may have to heat it up with a torch.
