View Full Version : Toyota R-154
Couple guys on the Volvo head yahoo group have talked about this in passing. Anyone know about this swap? Using a R-154? No I didn't use the search function, and no I haven't even Google it... shame on me. I just thought it was breaking news that should come here with no delay!

Is that coming off the 1JZ or do they all use the same housing? A tranny that can hold 260hp from factory would be something nice to look into if the swap isn't crazy.....
Well, For this conversion there is a company "Down Under" that makes a kit. That answers that. If anyone is interested I can get more details and crap.
Now, I can't find the thread, but someone was kicking around the idea of putting a Corvette Transaxle in their ranger... With some very basic priliminary research, The trans axle from a Supra would be the way to go it looks. They are subframed so it would be similar to the Expo swap and the Supra is only 4" wider, where as the Vette is like 8 or something? Anyway, just food for thought. I am still digging.

Why not just use an 03-04 Cobra setup if your going to do that. It would also be pretty easy to swap a T156 6spd in as well. I have seen that a few times
Did you mean T-56? I just Googled "T156" and did find anything. I am posting under the assumption you meant T-56. I'm not trying to be a smart as*, I am just charting new territory for myself here.
This thread is all over the place unfortunately. I agree with keeping it ford. I was just pointing out that this is an option that I have seem on another board.
If you were going the Transaxle route... I was just pointing out that the Vette may not be the best option.
