I have a 96 ranger that has an 88 tc engine/tranny. My question is I just put a new clutch kit in and when i was putting the slave cylinder back in it fell apart lol so i bought a new one. But after installing it(properly) it doesnt work right. It acts like the master cylinder(stock ranger) cant push enough fluid to fully push the fork. It did the same the thing with the old slave also? But where the old clutch was so worn out it pushed it just enough to disengage the clutch.

is it possible that the slave isn't bleed enuf? that would cause this. i have not heard of the stock ranger mastercylinder not being able to put out enuf pressure. but then it could be going bad also

^^^what he said^^^ It may have some air trapped in the line, making it not build enough pressure to operate the pressure plate 100%. or you could have put the clutch disk in backward.

Im new to this forum not to cars lol the clutch disk was installed correctly and i have bled this m-effer like 30 times. I also thought the master could be worn out as well so i put a new one in as well as a new slave. But still the same problem. Im about ready to toss a match in this damn truck haha. Thanks for trying to help guys. I appreciate it.

if you bought the whole setup from pedal to tranny you should have followed the recommended instructions and bench bled the whole thing..... then install... its easier to bleed with the system inverted...upside down.

Air in the line. If you don't believe us, try the match idea.

Well fellas i did bench bleed it first then when it still did NOT work i tried bleeding it again several times just to be sure. But thanks for taking me back to daycare. But since my last post i scavenged around my shop and found a wilwood master cylinder and slave cylinder that i used on a street rod project. So after a little custom fab work, patience, and BENCH BLEEDING. It works far better now than it ever has.

The proper procedure to any troubleshooting is to use probing question to make sure the bases were covered, we can't read minds, past experiences or steps taken unless you include those in the original posts, sorry for any offence taken.

Sorry. I have a very dry sense of humor. Most of the guys know this already. There are a lot of guys running your exact set up and none have reported the same problem worth out having air in the lines.when I replaced the cylinders in my stock set up I had your exact same issue and I too didn't believe there was air in the lines until I bled it a few times a week for a month and it slowly got better. Gives us another try. We aren't always this childish. Well, I am.... But in a cheeky way!
