c'mon vam i have never herd of a vam. wtf is a vam. i looked at the keyboard and seen v and c are nexted to each other figured it was a type-o. still i wonder is a vam a air box or what. if it is an air box why whould anybody want a aftermarked one...even if its bigger why not just custom make an air filter setup where the air pulls from the wheel well. hot air from the engine bay will not have that much neagative drawbacks if its done correctly.

the vam (vane air meter) is what the turbo 2.3 fords use stock for air measurement. they don't have mafs. the early cars used a small vam and the later svos and t-birds used a larger vam. for us merkur peeps, we need the big vam to go along with a la3 or PE. makes it a very easy swap then.

so, the big vam is not aftermarket, it is oem ford equipment, it's just bigger than the early ones.
