SO leaving work today a dumped the clutch toying with a coworker and bang I feel a slam on the frame....thought my b2 sway bar came loose or maybe my new front bar was sliding as it only occurred when I hit the clutch quick....turns out to be a motor mount!!! I guess 210k+ will do that to a factory mount.

Sooooo what are our options as far as an upgrade for motor mounts? Summit claims energy suspension doesn't offer polyurethane bushings and I have found little online...nothing actually....for replacement mounts other than custom offroad brackets. Does anyone have any suggestions or links? I really don't want to run solid mounts. I am thinking about a set of these from
www.autofab.com

Any suggestions are appreciated so lay em on me!!!

link didn't work but i herd about running a bolt through the stock mounts to make them a "semi-solid" mount. i will have to search for the page, i found it on google one time

The V6 motor mounts apparently work, they are apparently solid unlike the 2.3 mounts. They also mount directly to the frame not that bracket that the 2.3 mounts bolt to. In theory I would imagine that they would lower the motor a tad.

I know they say to use V6 mounts and not I4 mounts on V8 swaps, so I would imagine they do mount in the same location. Rock auto has mounts for cheap last time I checked. I would say go that route, or try making your own. I am gonna try making my own mounts for my V8 ranger, but then again, I am needing a solid mount.

i bought a tube of window urethane for a caulk gun(yes i know theres better stuff but its readily available at autozone), removed the pin and replaced it with a bolt then tacked the nut to the bolt. then i filled all the space around the mount with the urethane. turned out pretty damn solid. i actually have to loosen the motor mount bolts to line up the bolt holes on the trans mount. i barely get a 1/4" of movement now.

LMAO, but it seems like the best idea so far...

Basically, I took the bottom plate mount dealie pushed a bolt thru it from bottom up (same size as stock engine mount bolt/nut) and welded the head into place as flush as possible. That way, when you go to tighten the nut on top it doesn't spin as you CAN NOT get a wrench in there from below unless you cut a hole in the frame crossmemeber.

Just grabbed 3 pucks, tried to drill a straight hole thru all 3 with drill press but, it wouldn't do 3 only 2.

People say put some rubber cement in between each one, or anything you feel will help.

If I did it again, I'd get a shorter bolt lol. BARELY squeezed onto these ones. Going to cut them shorter if I ever take engine back out.

They squish down nicely and wow do they ever hold. Engine is nice and solid now but, still has a SMIDGE of flex for when on the throttle hard.

THanks gumby. I need some solids. This thing flexes so much when the boost hits.

That single post should be a sticky. So many people ask about that...

I agree!! I have searched the above part number and found multiple vendors with it available...problem is, none of them provide a picture of it. I can only find pictures of liquid filled factory mounts. Knowing all too well the mental capacities of our auto parts personnel I don't want to purchase the standard mounts based on their word....(they claim the "SR" version does not exist in their catalogs). Has anyone found these and gotten the actual solid mounts?

Order them through Advance, if they aren't right... Tell them to F off and go to heck. That's not a gosh darn solid motor mount so cram it.

Sorry. It's a slow day at work.

I got a "solid" mount from autozone a few years ago when i first got my truck and needless to say it wasnt, nothing to do with the advance ones just a review i guess
