Took a good bit of time testing with a wire tester but it was a success :rockwoot: 75$ for any one looking to buy.
This plugs into the motor harness. It should work on all 95+ 2.3L 2.5L 3.0L and 4.0L motors I do believe this would even work on the 95+ 5.0L explorer motors. I did extensive testing, flashed the ECU threw the obd2 port and data logged threw the obd2 port. Motor ran great did not throw any codes as far as the motor was concerned. It did however throw the canister purge test failed codes along with the fuel pump circuit failed codes.

It's not clear to me what exactly this does - could you splain Jess?

The 95+ OBD2 Ranger motors, being modular engines, were self contained packages. Even the computer was built into the engine harness. (ECU was located in the cowl above the engine on these trucks.)
Jess' harness alows someone to put in a 95+ engine and simply connecting those 3 wires to make it a simple drop in for an engine swap.
This will probably not be the best option for those of us who plan on using the ECU to control the fuel pump turn on, cruise, warning lights/gauges, transmission control, etc... but for the average swap it is all that is needed.
So If I used this for a 90 ranger, I would need to figure out how to run the fuel pump seperatly and that is pretty much it correct? Everything under the hood would be cared for lol?

Sorry to ask a maybe dumb question but does the motor just run off of the tuner or is there still and ecu in the system? Also do you know if it will work with the newer ohc 4.0 or just the ohv one

I am not sure on the sohc 4.0l. You could try it. This pugs into the stock motor harness, the ecu is located on the motor harness so yes you still use the ecu.

Still a little confused. So using this and a 95 up computer, you could have obd II conversion on an OBD I engine.

nonono, you would use the 95+ motor with the 95+ stock (MOTOR side) harness and add this adapter to throw it into a 94 and older ranger.. or any other car you like i guess.
