I was wonderin today truck started to run like crap. Its a 91 2.3 so i check the coils. if you unplug the exhaust side it dies and on the intake side i unpluged it and no change stays running but crappy. so i was thinkin that the intake side coil was bad. What do you guys think?

Are your coils stock? or old? i would go ahead and upgrade anyways... truck did that it would run like crap.. i pulled a coil lose and still ran like crap... got new coilpacks and it fixed my problem.. not saying its your problem but just somthing to think about

I am not sure. Won't hurt to try a new coil.

if you go to the bone yard the same coil is used on the older 4.6 sohc motors
swap coils, if it changes sides of the head this will tell you if its coil related or not. then go from there.

The engine doesn't fire both plugs everytime. Sometimes it runs on one plug only. I don't remember the conditions though. I THINK idle and wot are one plug only and part throttle is dual plugs firing.

That would be a problem. New coils should do it.
