Well I realized I was using a thread for my old carb 2.3 for updates, so here is a designated thread. Probubly shouldn't keep adding projects without finishing my other ones first, but can't help myself. Got a new part today and just wanted to share, and document the beginning to now. Parts list as of right now.
1978 351w with C6 tranny out of a van
rebuilt Garrett t6 frame turbo 76mm with .96ar hotside
Detroit twin inlet for turbo
intake parts.
1995 explorer rear 8.8 with discs.

Just a teaser, cause I probably gonna put it in the rear of the truck as its so freakin big. 2.3s coming out tomarrow. Gonna take the 302 apart and refresh it a little and throw it in at first to see what it can do before blowing up. By then I should have the 351w assembled and ready to drop in. Doing a in the bed setup, I won't have to worry about exhaust not working as I will just use block hugger factory manifolds on the 302, and make headers for the 351. Been slackin too much lately, and gonna try attacking two projects at once. Never works out being any easier I'm sure.

Can't wait to see you make progress on this. Only other V8 turbo build I've seen work is this guy.

I know of 5 or 6 other ones that that one I have been following. Three in mainly. My favorite one is this one. http://www.theturboforums.com/smf/the-turbo-'builds'-board/single-turbo-v8-ranger/35/ Havn't seen that video of that one, but did see one of the other drifting vids. Looks like a similar size turbo. Having a hard time deciding what to do for the manifolds. Another guy did a setup like that and it looks like it works good, but I am going A/W intercooler on this one, and I just don't have room for the turbo and it in the engine compartment. By summer I should have alot done this time around. Selling everything else I have so I have no excuses. Not my 2.3 though, but everything else. That way there is no excuse for lack of funds ect.

Really just looking forward to the deep sound of a V8, and the whistle of the turbo. Not enough super fast rangers out there, so gonna stop  and get to :peelout:

Well been out in the garage gettin the engine ready to come out still. Two top bolts are being a bitch and wouldn't come out, so taking the tranny out at the same time. Put the bottom bolts back in, took shifter out, crossmember, driveline ect. Had a heck of a time with some of these bolts as if ford had it out for me when they tightened em. Almost broke my foot trying to break the driveline bolts from the rearend. Not sure If I am gonna finish, or just push it out of the garage with the hood on so that my wife can park in the garage for the next 30 days. Things can't go easy all the time I guess. Stupid bolts.
