Yah, it's pretty dominated by 4 bangers, but it's for all turbo'd rangers. :)

Always nice to see something different, but I have a comment about your build design..

Your intake to the turbo has heat wrap - ok, I understand that purpose- but yet you have your air cleaner UNDER THE HOOD? So you have the heat wrap to keep the hot air hot? Route your intake to just behind the bumper, put a splash shield to protect it from the tire throwing water at it, and enjoy a TRUE cold air intake. And this would make that heat wrap worth it.

i didn't want to put the filter behind the bumper because it so low i was afraid of sucking up water. it is hard to see but the intake slopes towards the back of the truck a bit. it won't be sucking up water now. i took the wheel well out so i could get the most cold air possible. i do want to put a shield around it yet. thanks for the input i will consider it.

yeah i read your build on another site. is that site, Rogue Ranger your site? thats some good info there. pretty good numbers for the lowly 3.0 vulcan turbo.

Cool. Nice I didn't even realize it was a 3.0 until my second look  for doing someting different.

the site i have my build thread on is Ranger Power Sports. yea i didn't think i made that bad of numbers either. at first i was a little disappointed because i didn't hit my 300 whp but i see it as a hurdle or challenge. if it was easy to get there everyone would do it lol. i'm hoping with the arp head studs and intake spacer i will get to my goal, another tune.. oh and MORE BOOST ;).

nice truck buddy. a turbo 3.0 is something i have not seen much of. few 4.0's and alot of 2.3's, but never a 3.0. good job man, sounds real nice too

well i was going to up the boost on the truck this winter but i have decided to wait with that.. well for at least another year. going to be adding ARP head studs, p&p heads, port matched intake and phenolic intake spacer. so i need to save some money because i don't want to replace head gaskets twice in one year. like i have said before.. i want to be in the 300 rwhp mark with the truck. what do you guys think?

as long as you dont have to run too much boost to get there, i bet you can do it. it will be interesting how much the stock rods will take.

are you gonna put in bigger valves also? how bout a cam?

there is a guy with a whippled 3.0 that was running like 20 pounds of boost at one point.. he did break a rod bolt so those are the weak links in the bottom end at higher horse numbers. he has arp rod bolts now

i wonder if he had a heat exchanger or inter cooler set up. i did think about putting in ARP rod bolts to. it will have to wait. i think if i run about 15 psi and meth with a I/C set up i should have enough power to tickle my fancy lol.

i think i seen his video on youtube. i think he has a blue edge with like 400+ whp. crazy amount of power.

i do plan on having the heads beefed up with bigger valves and springs. i will not be putting in a cam. i don't think it is a good idea. i'm am with you there. this should be interesting. we will see what happens. all i can do is wait for now.

No...
The blue truck making 400 horse is a built 4.0 sohc with a m62

The guy with the 3.0 whipple is a silver extended cab

On mine, I ran it down under the battery (it is on the passenger side) and put it behind the bumper. I made a splash guard with some heavy rubber to protect it after I bent both ends of my T3 and a rod when we had a bad rain storm one year. I haven't had any issues since. I bolted the rubber to the bottom of the bumper and then also to the inner fender shield (which you took out).

i will see if i can make a box around the filter to keep it dry. i so have a lot of room there. i just have other things on my mind right now lol. thanks though. i will give it some more thought.
