My '95 2.3/5spd has been acting up lately. It doesn't want to go into any gear. I was thinking sincros but the other day I tried pumping the clutch pedal & it works fine for a short trip (5mi./4-5 stops). This got me thinking its possibly something in the hyd clutch or weak PP springs. My clutch seems to hold fine but engages about 1/2" off the floor. No loss of fluid, 190k, still n/a.
Any thoughts?

Sounds like the clutch is having issues, not releasing properly. Try bleeding it. If there is no leak, and bleeding doesn't do anything, then you may be looking at needing a new clutch master cylinder.

Clutch master and slave cyls work and wear as a pair, best bet is if one bad or tired the other is also so change as a pair.

Thanks guys,
Picked up a MC today. Hopefully that will work while I get parts together for a clutch upgrade & new slave cyl.
