these are my rims that i painted black. pushed all of the studs out pushed the studs into a peice of cardboard to paint the head of the studs only. made it way easier to paint them. painted them with .97$ paint from home depot and cleared them. they look great(:

I like the idea, the tri-color thing though doesn't sit well with my eyes. You plan on painting the truck red or black?

black for sure. yeah i hate the tri color thing too. but im just getting it done slowly. eventually itll be all black.

There's rims in there? All black rims look the same - detailless.. Why go through all the trouble of painting rims black, and paying the $$$ for fancy black rims? They all just look like black holes under the fenders..

I agree! The only black rims that really jump off the page are D windows crager soft 8's to me, however I'm not much of a chrome guy... I like silver, gun metal grey, and flat non gloss colors like white, silver, and sometimes grey.

the red studs on the black rim is whats supposed to make the rims stand out more. all black yes it just looks like a dark hole in my wheelwell. but the red sets it off. looks better in person than from pics. plus its in a shadow not the sunlight. the truck needs painted really really bad. its going to be a slow process for painting it. ive started sanding on the truck but i just dont have to room to do the sanding unfortunately. and i cant do much outside because the weather has been to cold here until the last 2 days.

i got some body work that has to be taken care of. rust around the wheelwells of the bed, few dents, a crease, and some stuff thatll take a few tools i dont have at the moment :/

i love my 92(: i cant wait for my 91 gets here. hoping the bed isnt rusted around the wheelwells like this one... i dont really have a use for a bigger bed so its okay! my subs fit nicely behind my seat:rockwoot: ya i dont see to many on 2nd gens on here. mostly 93 and up. its unfortunate. WISH MINE WAS AS CLEAN AS YOURS!! JESUS!

IMO the 2nd gens are the best looking Rangers ever made. I love my '91, my uncle bought it new when he was stationed in Kentucky. He babied it the whole entire time he owned it & I have all the paperwork since new including a brand new head put on. I took possession of it back in the mid '00s but it was never put on the road till just 6 months ago when I got my licence. It is a 2.3l 5 speed truck. It has seen very little salt & snow but that doesn't mean it doesn't have its issues: The doors are rusting out on the bottom, the radiator support mounts are rusted, and in an unusual spot on the bed is rotted right above the gas door on the inside lip. The frame tho is mint!! The interior is almost perfect too but I just recently swap Explore buckets in with the same pattern fabric as the original bench was for the future T5 trans swap. For what I use, the 7ft bed comes in very handy.

my bed is great besides the wheelwells. my frame is just surface rust and thats it. it could all be sand blasted then coated. i got rust on rear pass side of the cab. a nice crease in the pass side front fender. the gas door has rust on one of the corners. some chick reaended me and messed up my rear bumper put a split in it. but i bent it back out by tieing it to my dads f-350 dually and tugging on it a bit. mines a 2.3 5 speed also. there are 2 2nd gen rangers here around lincoln that ive seen that are restored and turbocharged. they are way cleaner than mine. ill eventually get around to taking the box off and fixing all the rust. then spray the truck in gloss black with some torque thrust powder coated black and itll look sweet. as for performance.. once i get my spare 2.3 ill be tearing it down and probably going .30 over with forged internals and a big turbo. but thats a few years down the road more than likely:( just waiting for my donor truck to get here.

These are durable trucks, my dad hit a deer & it only put a couple minor dings in it. Thats when it was taken off the road. It also broke the grill so thats why I have one out out of an Explorer in it. Those grills are really sharp looking!

i had a deer jump through my passenger side window a few months ago. it was a doe. she was literally in my truck. my buddy who was in the passenger seat was freaking out. damn deer creased my door but it popped right out so that was nice(:
