1.)for tuning i want to turn off open loop and get my base fuel as close to where it needs to be a/f wise and then turn open loop back on and tune that so that the ecu only has to try to adjust only a lil bit
2.) if number 1 is true, then how do i turn off open loop?
3.) could i use a voltage meter to log my maf and then log it side by side with my rpms and wideband? my tuner doesnt have data logging.

thats all that i can think of so far

for #1, there should be scalars that lets you choose between open loop and closed, one for idle and one the rest of the time.

yeah you could log with a multimeter if it has those capabilities. since you have the F3, you may need to get the DataQ setup that BE supports. this will let you log the WB, RPM's, and i think 1 or 2 other inputs(like the Maf volts) directly into your computer and the BE software will recognize it. i think its the DataQ 148 that BE supports, i have to check. you could also find out on Eectuning.org as that is the site that Clint Garrity uses for BE.

I think the only way to do this properly is to have the truck dyno tuned by someone that knows how to write obd I ford fuel maps and such. This can get a little pricy if you have to do it a bunch, but it will keep your engine from blowing up. Thats why the quarter horse or tweecer RT are a good idea. I would ask turbosteve as he is probubly the best active member to help you out with obd I ford tuning.
