Does anyone know if the "Ranger" emblems on the fenders of a 1994 body Ranger have locating pins? I'd like to remove the emblems... however do not care enough to have to fill holes.
Also, I have seen a few pictures online of my style Ranger with what looks like a new style hood. It is the hood that has the center section raised up, with lines following down to the grille. What year is this off of, and what all is involved in the swap?
For as long as I've owned this truck, I can't say I've ever cared what it looks like. I've never driven it long enough to mind. However, it's been too much fun to stay away from now that I have my new motor in. So now it's time to upgrade the looks. It's definately the ugliest vehicle I have ever owned, IMO.
Yes they do. I just removed my front fenders so I can personally confirm this. There is actually 3 holes I think, I didn't pay 100% attention, but did note that there was holes.
As for hood, it might be an aftermarket cowl hood. Or, a custom chop done a later Ranger "Power Dome" hood to fit our front.
Gotcha. Good to know before I ripped them off. Some day when I repaint the truck, they will be removed. I have the same teal color as you do in your avatar... I absolutely hate this color... but at least I have no rust/body damage, so I live with it.
Other than that, maybe getting rid of the chrome front/rear bumper, and putting on some nice wheels would help. I like the way Cobra Rs look on your truck. A black chrome set would be awesome! I think I also need to paint the grill and upper trim. The chrome is fading/pitting... but I cant picture how it would look color matched to the truck, or even black.

Yep. I can confirm on 3 holes. There are 2 that are slightly smaller then the diameter of a round pen and a third one that is big enough to drop a dime into.
This help with the "black grill look"? I swapped my 94 grill to a 95+ grille, and thats the gel coat black that it came in. I hadn't painted the end pieces above the marker lights yet.

My original plan as well was to color match the grill and buy an unchromed front bumper and color match it because the Chrome thing got too played out. But the more I tinker, the more I'm sure that I'm going keep it stock and go with a cowl hood.
Oh, and I LOVE this color ;)
I like it. I think I'll be stealing that look from you :yesnod:
Based on your introduction pics of your Ranger. I think we have two different paint colors. Yours is a teal color, where as mine is Blueish.
Main body paint code: KE Lapis Metallic Clearcoat
Tu-tone: KN Dark Lapis Metallic Clearcoat
What's yours?
Edit: maybe it is the same as I can't find a 1994 Ford Color code that is teal looking. must be the pictures.
You're right... it does look different from my picture to yours. I'd say yours looks more blue.
I didn't drive the ranger today, so I'll have to check next time I see it. I always forget if it's a 93 or a 94... not sure if the paint codes changed within that model year.
Should be the same color codes. Salatings is a 93 and has the same paint I have. His isn't tu-tone though.
