do i need to get a diffrent ecu???

i have a 93 ranger. the guys who are helping me build my truck are all about 240s so i need some help with electronics.. what do i need to do. i want to go with a safc but is it compatable with the ranger ecu. im calling apexi tomorrow... but can u guys tell me what setups you are running...

What is safc? Stand alone fuel control?? Some of the guys run the La3 ECU with VAM or MAF meter. That is what the SVO's and the T/C's ran with the 2.3L turbo motor.

Then there are guys that tune with a chip in the pre 95's as your management system already has maf, Chip, upgraded MAF and injectors.

I have a 98 so I use a flash tuner and custom tune SW.

a safc is a piggyback system that tells your ecu your motor is starving so it will dump more gas in the motor he are all the details. i talked to my buddys today they said it will work i just need to find ont what wires go where.. and to what i think it can only dump up too 30% more fule. here is the link for it http://www.apexi-usa.com/product_electronics_detail.asp?id=202&pageNum=1
