If the 2.3 has a dual plug head, then yes, it will fit the block. You'll need the 2.5 intake and throttle body for that head.Is it worth it,I'm not sure.It is good for a turbo.

Everything I have ever heard indicates that a 95 and up 2.3 and 2.5 heads are the same. I dont know about swapping to an earlier motor

anything ive read says that all 2.0, 2.3, and 2.5 heads are a direct bolt on to each other.... i was just wondering about everything else

Yes all 2.0L 2.3L and 2.5L heads are interchangeable. All 95 and up heads are the same 2.3L-2.5L the 95 and up has a smaller valve stem and flows the best from what have heard.

Is any one running a Esslinger alum. head? I am thinking about running one and i called them and the only issue their might be is that the d porting on their head is a diff size then the d porting in the stock 2.5L intake man. I dont want to spend the money and then have to spend more money to change the upper and lower intake man.

You looking to keep the stock 2.5L intake? You can always upgrade your stock head. I went threw boport to get my valves made. The only way to get big valves in a 95 and later is to get them custom made. It's worth it big time.

What about a 95 dual plug head on a 85 turbo coupe block will it fit

I don't have first hand experience but I believe the dual plug intake port configuration is different from the non dual plug. If you run and older head you need the older intake setup. Exhaust side is the same.

Yes it will. You must run a 95 and later intake with the 95 and later head.

i plan on running the 95 intake. i have a couple tc blocks laying around and thought if i build one of those my truck won't be down for too long

How does combustion chamber volume compare between the two heads?

does anyone have any input on using the tc head on a ranger block??

i was goin to use my ranger head, but i went to have a valve job done, and the dude told me it would be like 150 for a valve job. then he called me and it went up to 370, i said forget it. a brand new can be bought for 450. so i decided to use the tc head for now. i think i can still put down some decent numbers with it, plus i still want to use my gutted and rotated intakes
