Ok so i pulled motor and tranny and when i was hooking everything back up i notice the ranger is stuck in gear. I read after i took apart that to make sure its in neutral before u take apart. WOOPS lol I didnt know if there is some trip to getting this lined back up. Everything inside looks like it should be that way and nothing has moved or anything. so idk whats up. I still haven t bleed the clutch so im sure that might help but i still figured it would still be able to move. :banghead:

It sounds like you took the top shifter cover off the trany? I have done this with a tranny when it was out of the vehicle. You should able to get it in neutral wo the shifter on. Then put the shifter back on. You should be able to see when things line up.

when u look straight down in the shifter location there is like a 1/2 inch slot it goes in. does that sound about right.

the 1/2 inch slot should contain 3 parts, 1-2, 3-4, and 5-R. The three gates should be in line, none are up or down. If one is not just push into line with a screwdriver or prybar. If you are in doubt "shift" one up and down with the prybar. Drop the shifter in so that the actuator is in the groove and verify that it moves from side to side normally. You shouldn't need to pull the top cover off to do this.

also if you not sure what way to go with them, just rememeber they the oppsite of the shift patteren. so 1 is back on the left side an 2 is forward. on so on for the other gears.
its not hard to get them into gear just a long handle screw driver will do it.
