I have a 96 ford ranger with a 2.3T out of an 88 Merkur being swapped in. Jess hooked me up with a power steering bracket that works great. THANKS JESS! Now I am stuck on putting the alternator bracket on. I can only find one bolt at the top of the head that will mount the bracket. Anyone have an idea of what to do or at least have a bracket that I can buy that will work? Thanks Josh

Let me get this straight, your putting an 88 merkur motor into your 96 ranger?
Just curious but why not put the pistons in your 96?

I just swapped the DP head onto the Merkur block. I only did this because I didn't want to drill the block for an oil drain. I had plans on using the whole setup out of the Merkur but Jess gave me a better idea about running the EEC-V and tunning so I can keep OBD2. I have plans on building the 96 motor slowly over the year when I get some extra money. Until then I am trying to keep it cheap.

i think your going to run into more head ache's building that merkur motor. But i guess if you don't have any of the accessories for the 96 it would be a bit cheaper.
