I need to know if i only going to run upto 15pounds of boost how big of a maf do i need. can all 90mm maf read the same amount. i need to know WHAT KIND OF MAF DO I NEED! if i need a 90mm what one do i need will it fit my ford ranger connector 97-2.3L ranger. i know nothing about maf sensors. could i get a stock ford Lighting.
The 90mm lightning (aka Ford Motorsport 90mm) is a sure bet. All software vendors can use them and they are inexpensive and will plug directly into your harness. It will grow with your combo and is a quality unit. You really can't go wrong.
I recommend buying one of the Kits some vendors sell. The one that sells the MAF, filter adapter ring, and the filter it's self. The combo price is hard to beat.
I also want to add that at ~18lbs of boost, my maf is just shy of putting out 4 volts. <translate> A 90mm maf is definitely not too big.

Just run the 90 mm sensor. It will meter fine at lower levels and is easy to tune for. Exact maf sizing is not as important as making sure that your sensor isn't too small for the air volume. Don't be afraid of it being too big. I am using one and am only running 7psi for the winter. No rich or lean codes and drives very well
