I would use a 5 bar and search the net for one.Ford may have one but I'm not sure.I'm sure someone will reply if I'm wrong.

1 bar = 14.7 PSI = 1 atmospheric pressure

Just some food for someones later thoughts

Have you tried googling, or looking around on the internet? Guys who do the MegaSquirt usually go with the Mapdaddy sensor. Look up DIYautotune.com and you should be able to find it.

Keep the thread replication down and post the questions in the same thread man.

On topic: what exactly do you need a MAP for anyhow? I don't recall what your setup is. Are you doing Megasquirt? Stock 2.3T computer, and even a stock 97 computer with a tuner will not require a MAP sensor.

you asked what my setup was. it should be in the first weekend as march
what i have

97 2.3L regular cab 2rwd 5 sp fleet truck

what i'm doing

t3 hybrid turbo all the things needed
sct excalibrotor 2
42 pound injectors
90mm ford kightning maf
255lph pump
3" exshaust without a cat and probly dump it the start of the bed
intercooler
snow methonol kit

BIG GOALS
run the biggest safe amount of boost posible (14.whatever)
a perfectly tune
two bar map -----what i found that might work was a gm 2bar map but i
have to make sure ford and gm have same voltage for sensors... does that make sense?

i want 300 rwh
without new head and cam. i might be able to pull it off byhelping out the turbo.our motors 2.3 have a factory 125 hp it;s a good thing that my truck was a factory fleet truck i doesnt have power stearing or ac. i had to put a stereo in it. but its as clean as off the lot that might mean sense i dont have power stearing and ac it might have more hp like 150hp ac pulls alot off the belteven when its not running. i can nickel and dime to to reach 300 rwh

brother's a gm man he has a 01 z28 camaro droped a 408 foged with a procharger supercharger not dynoed but it got to be more than 750hp.

You do not need a map sensor. The map sensor is only needed for megasquirt. On our trucks we have the MAF meter ;)

You can make 300RWHP with no head modifications all you need is boost and fuel.

Gonna replace the pistons?

BTW. A map sensor is used in a speed density setup. Ford has been using MAF (mass air flow setup) for years now. Like Jess said, you'd use a MAP sensor now if you went with something like MS as it's pretty simple to set that up. But if you're staying stock then the Lightning (or whatever) MAF you use is all you'll need to 'measure' the air.
