hooking up a aftermarket tack and boost

how did you gust hook up your tachs.whats the easy way
the only way i have ever done it was through the pcm but i wont work that way.

1> pcm- tan yellow strip tach wire = mine doenst work it tested it
2> directly into the negative in the coil.
3> ignition (IDM) wire

also where did you T into for vac/press i thought about the break boost but it is to big i want to find a small diameter vac.press hose to t into

I have to question your approach with the tach based on the other thread. When you said you hooked it up to the T/Y wire you said it didn't work. Did you have power running to the tach as well, or just that one wire hooked up? You have to supply power to the tach other wise it will show nothing at all.


Vacuum can be tied into anything after the throttle body preferably.

becuse when i turn the key on i can change the back light and set the shift light. it has to be the tach pcm wire

Something just doesn't seem right.

Are you turbo'd yet? Did you rewire? If its all stock an not touched then there should be a signal there. It's required for your engine to run, or atleast I think, I need it for TFI, the EDIS might be different enough to not need it.

this will make you laugh the differnce between the two center rows five from end is one is tan and yell while the other is brown and yell ... they are the same tone of brown. i'm an electrian that can rewire a space suttle and i read diagrams every day this is stupid. this is the first i messed with it besides oil changes. this week gauges nexed. week fuel tank- pump, filter sending unit. week after that is turb then intercooler then methonol

could somebody please tell me what wire is the negative on the coil. 97 2.3 L two coil packs. i need a wire code diagram. after hours and hours of looking i cant find anything. i called ford (DEALER) looked in chiltons haynes. did one of you guys run your tach into the coil what color is that wire on coil? who did you find it.
